Electrician working safely at height on an overhead power line installation

Electrical work is where Robert started — a modern apprenticeship in 2001, his 18th Edition (BS 7671) qualification, and well over two decades since spent on everything from full house rewires to the two-minute job of swapping a faulty switch. Every job, large or small, follows the same wiring regulations and the same care, whether it is a council building, a commercial unit or a single domestic socket.

A lot of the enquiries Robert gets aren't for a full rewire at all — they're for the everyday things that get put off: an extra double socket in a kitchen that's never had enough, outside lights for a driveway or patio, a dedicated circuit and point for an EV charger or an air conditioning unit, or simply someone who wants a second opinion on something that doesn't feel right. All of it is handled to the same standard, with proper testing and certification, not just "it works now".

What's included

  • Full and partial rewires, and consumer unit (fuse board) upgrades
  • Extra sockets and additional circuits — kitchens, home offices, garages and outbuildings
  • Outside and garden lighting, security lighting and driveway lighting
  • Dedicated points for EV chargers and air conditioning units
  • Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) for homeowners, landlords and businesses
  • Fault finding, repairs and PAT testing
  • Fire alarm and emergency lighting installation & maintenance
  • Security alarm systems

Why choose Robert for this

Robert is 18th Edition qualified, CSCS carded and carries public liability insurance, so every job — from a single socket to a full rewire — is certified, tested and signed off properly, not just left "working". Read more about what 18th Edition actually means if you'd like the detail.

Electrical Installation & Maintenance — FAQs

Can you add extra sockets or outside lights without rewiring the whole property?

Yes — most homes don't need a full rewire just to add a socket, an outside light or a point for an EV charger or air conditioning unit. Robert can usually extend from the existing consumer unit, and will tell you honestly if the existing wiring needs attention first.

Do you provide an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report)?

Yes. EICRs are common for landlords, property sales and general peace of mind, and Robert will flag anything that needs attention in plain English rather than just handing over a form.

Is your electrical work certified and insured?

Yes. Robert holds his 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification and public liability insurance covering electrical work, and every job is tested and certified in line with BS 7671.
